Simple

I had dreamed of working at Simple for quite some time. There was not a design leadership position available at the time, so I took a Senior Design position just to get my foot in the door. I spent most of my time working on prototyping special projects, building out design tooling for the design team, and setting up the team to implement accessibility features on both iOS and Android.

Instant Funding Prototype

One big growth opportunity at the time was getting customers with new Simple accounts to add funds. According to the data we had at the time, users who added funds to their accounts right away were much more likely to become long term customers. One idea was to allow people to fund their new account instantly by using a debit card. This was a clickable prototype I came up with to explore that concept.

Simple UIKit

In an effort to make spinning up prototypes for ideas much faster, I set out to create a UIKit in Sketch that any designer on the team could pick up and hit the ground running with. I was able to identify all custom interface elements across iOS and Android, and build out a Type, Color, and Interface widget system that could be used and updated as needed. From what I understand this was still used long after I left the company.
